How to determine when to use the Events menu disabling features

The Integrations menu in Cadence allows you to control the visibility of the Events menu on both web and mobile platforms. These disabling features can help create a more streamlined navigation experience for your attendees, particularly when they only need to interact with a single event. Understanding when to use these features will help you make informed decisions about your event's navigation structure.

Before you start

The Events menu disabling features are labeled as Non-public Beta and are only available to System Administrators or internal Cadence employees.

When to use

  • When hosting standalone events where attendees don't need to navigate between multiple events
  • When creating a simplified user experience focused on a single event
  • When you want to reduce navigation options for specific platforms (web or mobile)
  • When your organization prefers a cleaner, more focused interface

How to do it

Log in to your Cadence Admin account.
    Navigate to your event dashboard.
Click on "Event Setup" in the left sidebar menu.
Select "Integrations" from the submenu that appears.
Review your current event context and navigation needs.
Consider whether your attendees need to access multiple events.
Disabling the Events menu will remove the ability for users to navigate between multiple events. Only use this feature if attendees primarily interact with a single event.
Evaluate platform-specific usage patterns for your event.
Decide if you want to disable the Events menu on web, mobile, or both platforms.
Check the "Disable Events Menu for Web" box if web users should focus on a single event.
Check the "Disable Events Menu for Mobile" box if mobile users should focus on a single event.
You can disable the Events menu for either web or mobile independently, allowing for platform-specific navigation experiences.
Click "Save" to apply your changes.
Test the user experience on both platforms to ensure navigation works as expected.

Troubleshooting

If attendees report difficulty accessing your event after disabling the Events menu:
  • Provide direct links to your event in communications
  • Consider re-enabling the Events menu temporarily while developing alternative navigation solutions
  • Ensure attendees have clear instructions on how to access your event directly
