The Home page is your event's first impression on attendees. Creating a visually cohesive design through the Home Menu's Settings tab helps ensure your event looks professional and on-brand. By carefully configuring layout options, visual elements, and interactive features, you can create a unified experience that guides attendees through your event content.
When to use
When setting up a new event
When refreshing your event's visual identity
When adding multiple content tiles to your Home page
When you want to create a consistent brand experience
Before you start
Some settings only affect the web version of your event and won't change the mobile app experience.
How to do it
Log in to your Cadence Admin account.
Navigate to your event dashboard.
Click on "Home" in the left sidebar menu.
Select the "Settings" tab at the top of the page.
Choose a consistent column layout from the "Columns (Web Only)" dropdown:
Select "Two Columns" for a balanced, symmetrical appearance
Choose "Single Column" for a focused, vertical flow
Select an alignment option that complements your layout:
"Centered" works well with most layouts for a balanced look
"Left Aligned" creates a more traditional reading pattern
Consider removing the tile overlay by checking "Remove Home Tile Overlay" if your tile images have consistent coloring.
Removing the overlay may affect text readability if your tile images have varying colors or contrast.
Enable the scroll bar by checking "Display Scroll bar on Home Tiles" for better navigation.
Set up a countdown timer if it fits your design:
Check "Enable Countdown Timer"
Choose either "use event start date" or "use custom date time"
Decide whether to display event details by checking or unchecking "Hide event name, date & location display."
Enable Live Video Tile if you'll be using Symphony for live streaming.
Live Video Tile works best with "Two Columns" or "Two Rows" layouts and requires Symphony to be configured with video content.
Adjust background opacity for better text contrast:
Check "Gradient Slider Adjust Home Screen Opacity"
Use the slider to set an opacity percentage that ensures text readability
Preview your changes by clicking the "Preview" button in the upper right corner.
Make adjustments based on the preview to ensure visual consistency.
Click "Save" to apply your changes.
Troubleshooting
If text elements become difficult to read after adjusting opacity or removing overlays, try increasing the opacity percentage or consider using images with better contrast for your tiles.
