How to adapt Home page settings for different event types
The Home page serves as the central hub for your Cadence event, and different event types benefit from specific layout configurations. Through the Home Menu's Settings tab, you can customize columns, alignment, visual elements, and interactive features to create the optimal experience for various event formats such as conferences, product launches, or virtual meetings.

When creating templates for different event types
When converting an event from one format to another (in-person to virtual)
When optimizing the Home page for specific audience needs
When standardizing layouts across similar events
Before you start
You need Event Manager or Administrator permissions to modify Home page settings.
How to do it
Log in to your Cadence Admin account.
Navigate to your event dashboard.
Click on "Home" in the left sidebar menu.
Select the "Settings" tab at the top of the page.
Choose a column layout based on your event type:
For conferences: Select "Two Columns" for organized content display
For webinars: Choose "Single Column" for focused content flow
For product launches: Use "Two Rows" to highlight key products
Select an alignment option that complements your event:
For formal events: Choose "Centered" for a balanced appearance
For content-heavy events: Use "Left Aligned" for easier reading
Configure visual elements based on your event branding:
Check "Remove Home Tile Overlay" for events with consistent branding
Enable "Display Scroll bar on Home Tiles" for events with many content tiles
Removing the tile overlay may affect readability if your tile images have varying colors or contrast.
Set up the countdown timer for time-sensitive events:
Check "Enable Countdown Timer"
Select "use event start date" for standard events
Choose "use custom date time" for multi-day events with featured sessions
Adjust header display based on your event type:
For branded events: Check "Hide event name, date & location display" to showcase custom imagery
For informational events: Keep this unchecked to display essential event details
Enable Live Video Tile for events with streaming content:
Check this option for virtual or hybrid events
Leave unchecked for in-person events without streaming
This feature works best when Symphony is configured with embedded content, video material, or an RTMP stream.
Adjust background opacity based on your event imagery:
Check "Gradient Slider Adjust Home Screen Opacity"
For events with dark backgrounds: Set opacity to 10-15%
For events with light or busy backgrounds: Set opacity to 30-40%
Preview your changes by clicking the "Preview" button in the upper right corner.
Click "Save" to apply your settings.
Troubleshooting
If your Home page appears cluttered after applying settings for content-heavy events, try reducing the number of tiles or switching to a different column layout that better accommodates your content volume.
