When using Tracks to organize schedule items in Cadence, you may encounter inconsistencies with track assignments, especially when using Multiple Track Types. These issues can include tracks appearing in unexpected places, duplicated tracks, or tracks not displaying properly. This guide will help you identify and resolve common track assignment problems through the Schedule Menu › Settings section.

When to use

  • When tracks appear duplicated in dropdown menus
  • When deleted track categories still show their tracks
  • When track assignments don't appear correctly on the web or app
  • When track filtering doesn't work as expected

Before you start

You must have System Administrator or Event Manager permissions to modify track settings and resolve assignment issues.

How to do it

    Log in to your Cadence Admin account.
    Navigate to your event dashboard.
    Click on "Schedule" in the left sidebar menu.
    Select "Settings" from the submenu that appears.
    Verify that "Enable Tracks" is checked.
If you're using multiple track categories, also ensure "Multiple Track Types" is checked.
    Click "Save" if you made any changes to these settings.
    Select "Tracks" from the Schedule submenu.
    Review your track structure for any inconsistencies.
Look for duplicate track names or tracks that appear under multiple categories.
    Check for any track categories that may have been deleted but still have tracks assigned to them.
Deleting a track category while keeping its tracks can cause those tracks to appear duplicated in assignment dropdowns.
    Delete any orphaned tracks that belonged to deleted categories.
    Navigate to a schedule item that has track assignment issues.
    Edit the schedule item and review its track assignments.
    Remove any duplicate or incorrect track assignments.
    Save your changes to the schedule item.
    Repeat this process for any other affected schedule items.
    Verify that track filtering works correctly on the web interface.

Troubleshooting

If tracks still appear duplicated after following these steps, try creating a new track with a different name and reassigning schedule items to it instead. For persistent issues with the default track type, navigate to Schedule › Labels to modify its name.
