Hide Events Until Registration is Completed

The Registration Menu in Cadence allows you to control whether your event appears in users' event lists before they register. Through the Registration Menu › Settings section, you can enable the "Hide event when not registered" option to keep your event hidden until an attendee completes the registration process, helping you manage visibility and create a cleaner event list experience.

When to use

  • When you want to prevent unregistered users from seeing your event
  • When managing private events that should only be visible to registered attendees
  • When reducing clutter in users' event lists
  • When creating a more exclusive event experience

Before you start

You must have System Administrator or Event Manager permissions to modify registration settings.

How to do it

Log in to your Cadence Admin account.
    Navigate to your event dashboard.
Click on "People" in the left sidebar menu.
Select "Registration" from the submenu that appears.
Click on the "Settings" tab at the top of the page.
Ensure "Enable Event Registration" is toggled on.
Disabling this setting will remove the registration option from your event entirely.
Locate the "Hide event when not registered" checkbox in the settings panel.
Check the box to hide your event from users' event lists until they register.
When enabled, this setting prevents your event from appearing in the events list for users who haven't registered, but they can still access the event directly via the registration URL.
Configure your other registration settings as needed.
Click "Save" at the bottom of the page to apply your changes.

Troubleshooting

If users report they can still see your event before registering:
  • Verify you clicked "Save" after enabling the "Hide event when not registered" option
  • Confirm users are looking at their events list and not accessing the event via a direct link
  • Check that the event registration is properly enabled
