How to analyze onboarding completion rates

Analyze Onboarding Completion Rates

The Onboarding menu in Cadence allows you to track how effectively attendees are completing your event's onboarding process. From the Onboarding › Video section, you can access completion metrics to identify potential issues with your onboarding flow and ensure attendees are successfully providing the information you need.

When to use

  • When evaluating the effectiveness of your onboarding configuration
  • When troubleshooting low event participation rates
  • When determining if attendees are encountering issues during onboarding
  • When reporting on event engagement metrics

Before you start

You must have System Administrator or Event Manager permissions to access onboarding completion metrics.

How to do it

Log in to your Cadence Admin account.
    Navigate to your event dashboard.
Select "Onboarding" from the left sidebar menu.
Click on the "Fields" tab at the top of the page.
Scroll down to the "Completion Metrics" section at the bottom of the page.
If you don't see this section, ensure you've saved your onboarding configuration first.
Review the "Completion Rate" percentage showing how many attendees have finished onboarding.
Check the "Completion by Step" breakdown to identify where attendees might be dropping off.
Steps with lower completion rates may indicate confusing questions or technical issues.
Click the "Export Report" button to download detailed completion data.
Select your preferred format (CSV or Excel).
Navigate to "Event Setup" → "Onboarding" → "Reset Onboarding" to view individual attendee status.
This view shows which specific attendees haven't completed onboarding, allowing for targeted follow-up.
Filter the attendee list by completion status using the dropdown menu.
Send reminders to attendees who haven't completed onboarding by selecting them and clicking "Send Reminder."
Compare completion rates between different steps to identify potential bottlenecks.
Analyze which custom fields or steps have the lowest completion rates.
Create a summary of findings to guide improvements to your onboarding flow.

Troubleshooting

If completion rates are unexpectedly low:
  • Verify that all required custom fields are properly configured
  • Ensure the onboarding flow is enabled in the Settings tab
  • Check that required fields don't contain validation errors that prevent completion
  • Consider reducing the number of required fields to improve completion rates
