How to add a video introduction to the onboarding process

Add Video Content to the Onboarding Process

Adding video content to your event onboarding process provides an engaging way to welcome attendees and share important information when they first access your event. Through the Onboarding menu in Cadence, you can upload a video that will play during the onboarding sequence, helping to set expectations and create a more personalized experience.

When to use

  • When creating a welcoming introduction for your event
  • When you want to provide visual instructions for attendees
  • When delivering important event information in an engaging format
  • When personalizing the onboarding experience with branded content

Before you start

You must have System Administrator or Event Manager permissions to modify onboarding settings.

How to do it

Log in to your Cadence Admin account.
    Navigate to your event dashboard.
Select "Onboarding" from the left sidebar menu.
Click on the "Video" tab at the top of the page.
The Video tab is separate from the Fields, Settings, Welcome, and Terms & Conditions tabs.
Enter a header for your video in the "Header Text" field.
Click the "Video Material" dropdown menu.
Select an existing video from your materials library or upload a new one.
Video materials added via embedded code, YouTube or Vimeo URL are not supported on mobile apps for playback within onboarding.
Upload your video file if adding a new video.
For optimal performance, keep your video under 100MB and in MP4 format.
Enable HLS for smoother video playback if you have an @eventcadence.com account.
Preview your video to ensure it plays correctly.
Click "Save" to apply your changes.
Test the video by resetting onboarding for a test user account.

Troubleshooting

If your video doesn't appear during onboarding on mobile devices, verify you've uploaded the video directly to Cadence rather than using an embedded code or external URL.
