How to ensure label consistency when duplicating events
The Schedule Labels section in Cadence allows you to maintain consistent terminology when duplicating events. Located in the Schedule Menu › Labels area, this feature helps ensure that your custom labels for Track, Location, and Speaker fields are properly carried over to new events, creating a seamless experience for both administrators and attendees.
When to use
When creating new events based on existing templates
When running a series of related events that should share the same terminology
When standardizing label customizations across your organization's events
When duplicating events for different audiences while maintaining consistent navigation
Before you start
You must have System Administrator or Event Manager permissions to modify schedule labels. Required fields are marked with an asterisk (*).
How to do it
Log in to your Cadence account.
Navigate to your event dashboard.
Select the event you want to duplicate.
Click on "Event Setup" in the left sidebar menu.
Select "Details" from the submenu.
Locate the "Duplicate Event" button and click it.
Review the duplication options that appear in the modal window.
Look for checkboxes related to "Schedule" or "Schedule Settings" to ensure label customizations will be included.
Ensure the "Schedule" or "Schedule Settings" option is checked.
If this option is not selected, your custom labels will not be copied to the new event.
Complete the duplication process by following the remaining prompts.
Navigate to the new event after duplication is complete.
Click on "Schedule" in the left sidebar menu.
Select "Labels" from the submenu that appears.
Verify that your custom labels have been properly transferred.
Make any necessary adjustments to the labels if needed.
Click "Save" to apply any changes.
Custom labels will appear on web and mobile apps but will continue to show the original labels in the admin interface.
Troubleshooting
If your custom labels aren't appearing in the duplicated event, check that you selected the correct duplication options. If labels aren't appearing in the mobile app, ensure you're using the latest version of the Cadence app (v2.7.387 for iOS or v2.7.404 for Android) and try refreshing your event data.
