How to edit existing onboarding configurations {[107](https://cadence.slite.com/app/docs/CMlxT5IPsRXdzc/How-to-edit-existing-onboarding-configurations)}

Edit Existing Onboarding Configurations

The Onboarding menu in Cadence allows you to modify how attendees experience the onboarding process when they first access your event. From the Onboarding › Fields section, you can update which custom fields attendees must complete, change field selection options, and adjust other onboarding settings to better meet your event's needs.

When to use

  • When updating which profile fields attendees see during onboarding
  • When adding or removing custom fields from the onboarding process
  • When switching between displaying all fields or only selected fields
  • When modifying event-specific profile information requirements
You must have System Administrator or Event Manager permissions to modify onboarding settings.

How to do it

Log in to your Cadence Admin account.
    Navigate to your event dashboard.
Select "Onboarding" from the left sidebar menu.
Click on the "Fields" tab at the top of the page.
Other tabs in the Onboarding section include Settings, Welcome, Terms & Conditions, and Video.
Review the current "Enable Event-Level Custom Fields" checkbox status.
Modify the checkbox selection if needed to enable or disable event-level custom fields.
You can click the "here" link to set up or edit your event-level custom fields if needed.
Choose whether to include "All fields" or "Selected fields" in the onboarding process.
Update the specific fields selection if you chose "Selected fields."
Limiting the number of fields can improve completion rates by making the onboarding process quicker for attendees.
Click "Save" to apply your changes.
Test your updated configuration by resetting onboarding for a test user.
To test, go to the "Reset Onboarding" tab, search for a test user, and click "Reset Onboarding" next to their name.

Troubleshooting

If attendees report being unable to complete onboarding, check that:
  • All required custom fields are properly configured
  • The onboarding flow is enabled in the Settings tab
  • Custom fields don't contain validation errors that prevent completion
