How to troubleshoot X/Twitter Feed integration problems

The X/Twitter Feed integration allows you to display social media content from specific handles or hashtags directly in your event's Live Feed. When this integration isn't working properly, it can impact your event's social engagement. This article guides you through common troubleshooting steps to resolve X/Twitter Feed integration issues in the Live Feed settings.

Before you start

You must have Event Manager or Administrator permissions to troubleshoot and modify X/Twitter Feed integration settings.

How to do it

    Log in to your Cadence admin dashboard.
    Navigate to your event management page.
    Select Live Feed from the left navigation menu.
    Click the Settings tab at the top of the page.
    Verify integration is enabled by confirming the "Enable X/Twitter Feed" checkbox is checked.
    Click Save if you made any changes to this setting.
    Navigate to the "X/Twitter" tab that appears after enabling the integration.
    Check handle formatting by ensuring Twitter usernames are entered without the @ symbol.
If users have entered the @ symbol in their Twitter username, Cadence will automatically remove it, but it's best practice to enter handles without it.
    Verify hashtag formatting by confirming hashtags include the # symbol.
    Confirm account status by checking that the X/Twitter account associated with your integration is active and not suspended.
If your X/Twitter integration subscription has expired, you may need to renew your plan to restore functionality.
    Check for API limits as X/Twitter restricts the number of API calls within certain timeframes.
    Review error messages in the X/Twitter tab for specific integration issues.
    Clear browser cache and reload the page to refresh the connection.
    Test with a new hashtag that has recent, public activity to verify the integration works.
    Click Save after making any changes to your X/Twitter feed settings.

Troubleshooting

If X/Twitter content still isn't appearing in your Live Feed after following these steps, the issue might be related to X/Twitter API changes or account permissions. Contact your Cadence account representative for additional support.
