Enable or Disable the Video Component in Onboarding
The Video tab in the Onboarding menu allows you to add an engaging video introduction that plays when attendees first access your event. You can easily enable or disable this feature to control whether attendees see a video during their onboarding process.
When to use
When creating a welcoming introduction for your event
When you want to provide visual instructions for attendees
When you need to temporarily disable video content during testing
When troubleshooting onboarding completion issues
You must have System Administrator or Event Manager permissions to modify onboarding settings.
How to do it
Log in to your Cadence Admin account.
Navigate to your event dashboard.
Select "Onboarding" from the left sidebar menu.
Click on the "Video" tab at the top of the page.
Locate the "Add Video to Onboarding" checkbox at the top of the page.
Check the box to enable the video component or uncheck it to disable video during onboarding.
Disabling the video component won't delete your video selection or header text, making it easy to re-enable later.
Enter a header for your video in the "Header Text" field if enabling the video component.
The default header text is "Welcome!" but you can customize this to match your event branding.
Select a video from the "Video Material" dropdown if enabling the component.
Video materials added via embedded code, YouTube or Vimeo URL are not supported on mobile apps for playback within onboarding.
Click "Save" to apply your changes.
Test your configuration by resetting onboarding for a test user account.
Troubleshooting
If attendees report not seeing the video during onboarding despite having it enabled:
Verify the video file is under 100MB and in MP4 format for optimal performance
Confirm the video was uploaded directly to Cadence rather than linked from an external source
Check that attendees are using supported devices and browsers
