How to enable and configure Live Video Tiles for Symphony

The Live Video Tile feature automatically displays active Symphony sessions directly on your event's Home page, allowing attendees to immediately see and join live broadcasts without navigating through menus. This feature works with Symphony sessions that include embedded content, video materials, or RTMP streams, creating a more engaging Home page experience.

When to use

  • When hosting live broadcasts that you want to highlight prominently
  • When running Symphony sessions with embedded videos or live streams
  • When you want to provide one-click access to important live content
  • When creating an immersive event experience with featured video content

Before you start

Live Video Tile only works with column layouts set to "Two Columns" or "Two Rows" in the Home settings.
This feature requires a Symphony session with embedded content, video material, or an RTMP stream to be set to "Live" status.

How to do it

    Log in to your Cadence Admin account.
    Navigate to your event dashboard.
    Select "Home" from the left sidebar menu.
    Click the "Settings" tab at the top of the page.
    Set column layout to either "Two Columns" or "Two Rows" from the "Columns (Web Only)" dropdown.
The Live Video Tile feature will not work with "Single Column" or "Single Row" layouts.
    Check the "Enable Live Video Tile" option.
This setting allows Symphony live sessions to automatically appear on your Home page when they go live.
    Configure your Symphony session with one of these content types:
  • Embedded content (YouTube, Vimeo)
  • Video material from your Cadence materials
  • RTMP stream
    Click "Save" at the bottom of the page to apply your settings.
    Set your Symphony to "Live" when you're ready for it to appear on the Home page.
The video tile will automatically appear on the Home page once your Symphony session is live.

Troubleshooting

If the Live Video Tile doesn't appear on your Home page:
  • Verify your column layout is set to "Two Columns" or "Two Rows"
  • Confirm your Symphony session is currently set to "Live" status
  • Check that your Symphony includes embedded content, video material, or an RTMP stream
  • Refresh the Home page, as it may take a few moments for the tile to appear
