Choose Between Displaying All Custom Fields or Selected Fields During Onboarding
When configuring the onboarding experience for your event, you can control which custom fields attendees must complete before accessing your event. The Fields tab in the Onboarding menu allows you to choose between displaying all custom fields or only specific ones during the onboarding process.
When to use
When you want to customize which profile fields attendees see during onboarding
When you need to limit the number of fields to streamline the onboarding process
When different events require different sets of custom fields
When you want to prioritize collecting specific information from attendees
Before you start
You must have System Administrator or Event Manager permissions to modify onboarding settings.
How to do it
Log in to your Cadence Admin account.
Navigate to your event dashboard.
Select "Onboarding" from the left sidebar menu.
Click on the "Fields" tab at the top of the page.
Check the "Enable Event-Level Custom Fields" box.
You must enable event-level custom fields before you can select which ones to display.
Choose one of the following options:
All fields: Displays all available custom fields during onboarding
Selected fields: Allows you to choose specific custom fields to display
Select the specific fields you want to include if you chose "Selected fields."
Limiting the number of fields can improve completion rates by making the onboarding process quicker for attendees.
Click "Save" to apply your changes.
Troubleshooting
If attendees report issues with the onboarding process:
Verify that all selected custom fields are properly configured
Ensure the onboarding flow is enabled in the Settings tab
Check that required fields don't contain validation errors that prevent completion
