How to navigate between different Onboarding configuration options

The Onboarding menu in Cadence allows you to configure what information attendees will provide when first accessing your event. From the Fields tab, you can enable event-level custom fields and determine which specific profile information attendees must complete before accessing your event content.

When to use

  • When setting up a new event and configuring the attendee onboarding experience
  • When you want to collect specific information from attendees as they join your event
  • When you need to customize which profile fields are required during onboarding
  • When enabling event-specific custom fields for attendee profiles
You must have System Administrator or Event Manager permissions to modify onboarding field settings.

How to do it

Log in to your Cadence Admin account.
    Navigate to your event dashboard.
Click on "Onboarding" in the left sidebar menu.
Select the "Fields" tab at the top of the page.
Other tabs in the Onboarding section include Settings, Welcome, Terms & Conditions, and Video.
Check the "Enable Event-Level Custom Fields" box to allow attendees to fill in event-specific profile information.
You can click the "here" link to set up or edit your event-level custom fields if needed.
Choose whether to include "All fields" or "Selected fields" in the onboarding process.
Select specific fields if you chose the "Selected fields" option.
Click "Save" to apply your changes.
Navigate to other configuration tabs by clicking their names at the top of the page.
Return to the Fields tab at any time to modify your field selection.

Troubleshooting

If attendees report being unable to complete onboarding, check that:
  • All required custom fields are properly configured
  • The onboarding flow is enabled in the Settings tab
  • Custom fields don't contain validation errors
