How to resolve common issues with post approvals

The Live Feed post approval feature in Cadence allows administrators to review content before it appears to event attendees. When enabled in Live Feed Menu › Settings, all posts require administrator approval before becoming visible. However, users may encounter several common issues with this workflow that can be resolved through proper configuration and troubleshooting.

When to use

  • When post approvals aren't appearing in the moderation queue
  • When approved posts aren't displaying to attendees
  • When the Moderation tab is missing
  • When users report their posts are stuck in "Pending" status
You must have Event Manager or Administrator permissions to troubleshoot post approval issues.

How to do it

    Verify post approval is enabled by navigating to Live Feed › Settings.
    Check that the "Enable Post Approval (Main Feed)" option is selected.
If using Multiple Feed mode, ensure post approval is enabled for each feed where moderation is required.
    Confirm the Moderation tab appears in your Live Feed menu navigation.
The Moderation tab only appears after enabling post approval and saving your settings.
    Refresh your browser if the Moderation tab doesn't appear immediately after enabling.
    Review pending posts by clicking on each post in the Moderation tab list.
    Check user permissions if administrators cannot see the Moderation tab.
Only users with Event Manager or Administrator roles can access the Moderation tab and approve posts.
    Verify your internet connection if posts aren't loading in the moderation queue.
    Clear your browser cache if settings changes aren't taking effect.
    Test the workflow by creating a test post as a non-administrator user.
    Communicate with users about expected approval timeframes to manage expectations.

Troubleshooting

If administrators cannot see the Moderation tab or approve posts, verify they have been assigned the correct role (Event Manager or Administrator) and that post approval has been enabled in the Live Feed settings.
If posts remain in "Pending" status for an extended period, check that you have active moderators assigned to review content during your event.
