Determine Which Check-In Methods Are Appropriate for Your Event

The Schedule Settings page in Cadence offers multiple check-in methods to track attendance at your schedule items. From the Schedule Menu › Settings section, you can enable various options including standard attendee check-in, badge scanning, legal disclaimers, signature capture, and customer check-in. Selecting the right combination of methods ensures efficient attendance tracking while meeting your event's specific compliance and reporting requirements.

When to use

  • When planning attendance tracking for different types of schedule items
  • When compliance requirements dictate specific documentation methods
  • When you need different check-in processes for internal vs. external attendees
  • When determining the most efficient check-in workflow for your event type

Before you start

You must have System Administrator or Event Manager permissions to modify schedule check-in settings.

How to do it

Log in to your Cadence Admin account.
    Navigate to your event dashboard.
Select "Schedule" from the left sidebar menu.
Click the "Settings" tab at the top of the Schedule page.
Scroll down to the check-in configuration section.
Consider your event size when selecting check-in methods.
For large events with 100+ attendees, badge scanning is more efficient than standard check-in.
Evaluate compliance requirements for your event or industry.
Healthcare and financial services events often require signature capture and legal disclaimers for regulatory compliance.
Toggle "Enable Standard Attendee Check-in" for basic attendance tracking.
This is the simplest option and works well for most events where you just need to track who attended.
Enable Badge Scan Check-in for faster processing at high-volume events.
Badge scanning requires compatible hardware and works best with the Cadence mobile app (v2.7.404+ for Android or v2.7.393+ for iOS).
Toggle "Enable Legal Disclaimer Check-in" if attendees must acknowledge terms.
Legal disclaimers are particularly important for events sharing proprietary information or collecting feedback.
Enable Signature Capture Check-in when physical proof of attendance is required.
Signature capture only works on mobile devices through the Cadence app, not on the web interface.
Toggle "Enable Customers Check-in" to track external participants separately.
This option is essential when you need to distinguish between internal team members and external participants in reports.
Click "Save" to apply your check-in method selections.

Troubleshooting

If check-in options aren't appearing in the mobile app, ensure staff are using the latest version of the Cadence app (v2.7.404 for Android or v2.7.393 for iOS) and try refreshing your event data.
