Coordinate Notification Settings with Your Event Schedule

The Notifications Settings page in Cadence allows you to align your notification strategy with your event schedule for maximum impact. By strategically configuring when and how attendees receive alerts about schedule items, Live Feed posts, and messaging activity, you can enhance the attendee experience and drive engagement at key moments throughout your event.

When to use

  • When planning communication timing around key event activities
  • When managing notification volume during busy periods of your event
  • When coordinating reminders for high-priority sessions
  • When creating a comprehensive communication strategy

Before you start

You must have Admin or Event Manager permissions to modify notification settings.

How to do it

Navigate to your event dashboard in Cadence.
Select "Notifications" from the left sidebar menu.
Click the "Settings" tab at the top of the page.
Review your event schedule to identify key sessions and high-traffic periods.
Enable Schedule Reminders by checking the box if not already enabled.
Select an appropriate reminder time based on your venue layout and schedule density.
Choose longer times (25-60 minutes) for large venues where attendees need more travel time between sessions, and shorter times (5-15 minutes) for compact venues.
Consider disabling Live Feed notifications during high-activity periods.
When enabled, attendees receive notifications for all Live Feed posts, which can quickly lead to notification fatigue during active sessions.
Configure Messaging Channels notifications based on your communication needs.
Private channel members always receive notifications regardless of this setting, so this only affects public channel notifications.
Click "Save" at the bottom of the page to apply your settings.
Create targeted manual notifications to supplement automated reminders for key sessions.
Schedule important announcements between sessions rather than during them.
Review your notification strategy daily during multi-day events to make adjustments as needed.

Troubleshooting

If attendees report not receiving notifications:
  • Verify they haven't disabled push notifications on their devices
  • Confirm the notification settings are properly saved in your event
  • Check that attendees have the latest version of the Cadence mobile app (v2.7.404 for Android or v2.7.393 for iOS)
