Create Speaker Resources and Materials

The Speakers feature in Cadence allows you to enhance presenter profiles with supplementary content for attendees. From the Speakers Menu › Settings area, you can add various resources such as PDFs, presentations, videos, and website links to speaker profiles, providing attendees with additional context about speakers' expertise, publications, or presentation materials.

When to use

  • When sharing speaker presentation materials with attendees
  • When providing speaker biographies or CVs as downloadable files
  • When linking to speakers' published works or websites
  • When creating comprehensive speaker profiles with supporting materials

Before you start

You must have System Administrator or Event Manager permissions to add resources to speaker profiles. Required fields are marked with an asterisk (*).

How to do it

Log in to your Cadence Admin account.
    Navigate to your event dashboard.
Click on "Speakers" in the left sidebar menu.
If you don't see the Speakers option, you may need to enable it first through Event Setup › Menu.
Locate the speaker you want to add resources to in the speakers list.
Click on the speaker's name or image to open their profile.
Navigate to the "Materials" tab within the speaker profile.
Click the "+" button to add a new resource.
Select the resource type from the dropdown menu:
  • PDF
  • Website
  • Document (DOC/DOCX)
  • Presentation (PPT/PPTX)
  • Video (MP4)
Enter a name for the resource in the "Name" field.
Choose a descriptive name that clearly indicates what the resource contains.
Upload your file or enter the website URL depending on the resource type selected.
Add a brief description of the resource to help attendees understand its content.
Set visibility options if available for the resource.
Click "Save" to add the resource to the speaker profile.
Repeat steps 7-14 to add additional resources as needed.
Verify that resources appear correctly on the speaker's public profile.
Large files may take longer to upload and could affect loading times for attendees viewing speaker profiles.

Troubleshooting

If resources aren't appearing on the speaker's public profile, verify that the speaker profile has been properly saved and that the resources were uploaded successfully. Some file types may have size limitations or require specific formats to display correctly.
