How to add notes and follow-up items to leads

Adding notes and follow-up items to leads in Cadence helps you track important information about potential customers captured during events. From the Leads Menu, you can access individual lead profiles to add detailed notes, record conversations, attach files, and set follow-up priorities to ensure effective post-event engagement.

When to use

  • When documenting conversations with leads at events
  • When adding follow-up reminders about specific leads
  • When sharing information about leads with team members
  • When recording important details for post-event follow-up
You must have the Leads menu enabled for your event to access this feature.

How to do it

    Navigate to your event dashboard in Cadence.
    Select "Leads" from the left sidebar navigation.
    Click on either "All Leads" or "My Leads" tab depending on which leads you want to view.
    Search for the specific lead you want to add notes to using the search bar.
    Select the lead by clicking on their name to open their profile details.
    Locate the "Notes" section in the lead profile view.
    Click on the "Add Note" button.
You can also record audio notes if this feature has been enabled by your administrator in the lead scan menu setup.
    Enter your note text in the provided field.
    Add any follow-up items or action points in your note.
    Select a priority level for the lead if your event has this feature configured.
Notes are visible to all users who have access to the lead profile.
    Click "Save" to add the note to the lead profile.
    Review your saved note which will now appear in the lead's activity feed with your name and timestamp.
    Add any files or resources by clicking on the "Resources" section.
Use star ratings (if enabled) to prioritize your most promising leads for follow-up.
    Return to the leads list by clicking "Back to Leads" in the top navigation.

Troubleshooting

If you cannot add notes to a lead profile, check that:
  • You have the appropriate permissions for the event
  • The lead was properly scanned or imported into the system
  • The Leads feature is enabled for your event
