The Speakers feature in Cadence allows you to control how presenters are displayed throughout your event platform. From the Speakers Menu › Settings area, you can troubleshoot and resolve sorting inconsistencies that may occur between different views or devices, ensuring speakers appear in your intended order for all attendees regardless of how they access your event.
When to use
When speakers appear in different orders on web versus mobile apps
When custom speaker order isn't being respected in some views
When schedule items show speakers in an unexpected order
When different users see different speaker arrangements
Before you start
You must have System Administrator or Event Manager permissions to modify speaker sort settings. Required fields are marked with an asterisk (*).
How to do it
Log in to your Cadence Admin account.
Navigate to your event dashboard.
Click on "Speakers" in the left sidebar menu.
If you don't see the Speakers option, you may need to enable it first through Event Setup › Menu.
Select the "Settings" tab at the top of the Speakers page.
Verify your current sorting method in the "Sort By" dropdown:
"A-Z (Last Name)" for alphabetical sorting
"Custom order" for manually arranged speakers
Click "Save" to ensure your current settings are applied.
If you've made any changes to the sort order but haven't saved, speakers may appear inconsistently across different views.
Return to the main Speakers list by clicking the "Speakers" tab.
Check if speakers are displaying in your expected order.
If using custom order, verify that speakers are arranged correctly by dragging them to their proper positions using the six-dot handle icon.
The system automatically saves your custom order as you drag and drop speakers into new positions.
Clear your browser cache to ensure you're seeing the most current version of your settings.
Test the speaker display on different devices (desktop, mobile app, tablet).
Verify that speakers appear in the same order across all platforms.
Check the Cadence mobile app version to ensure it's updated to the latest release.
For iOS, version 2.7.387 or later is recommended; for Android, version 2.7.404 or later.
Confirm that all users experiencing inconsistencies have refreshed their browsers or apps.
Troubleshooting
If speakers still appear in inconsistent orders after following these steps:
Ensure all users have updated to the latest version of the Cadence mobile app
Try switching temporarily to alphabetical sorting, saving, then switching back to custom order
Verify that no schedule items have overridden speaker order settings at the item level
