How to obtain a Weglot API key for your organization

The Integrations menu in Cadence allows you to enable multilingual support for your events through Weglot translation services. Before you can activate this feature, you'll need to obtain a valid Weglot API key. This key connects your Cadence events to the Weglot translation service, allowing your event website content to be translated into multiple languages for international attendees.

When to use

  • When hosting international events with attendees who speak different languages
  • When compliance requires offering content in specific languages
  • When you need to provide event content in multiple languages
You must have System Administrator permissions to request and implement a Weglot API key for your organization.

How to do it

Contact your Cadence Account Manager to request Weglot translation services.
Provide details about your translation needs, including which languages you need to support.
Be specific about your language requirements to ensure your Weglot subscription includes all necessary languages.
Receive your Weglot API key from your Cadence Account Manager once your subscription is activated.
Keep your API key secure and do not share it with unauthorized users as it provides access to your translation services.
Navigate to your event dashboard in Cadence Admin.
Click on "Event Setup" in the left sidebar menu.
Select "Integrations" from the dropdown menu.
Check the box next to "Enable Weglot language translations for the event website (App Translation not supported)".
Enter your Weglot API key in the field that appears.
Click "Save" to apply your integration settings.
Test the translation functionality by visiting your event website and selecting different languages from the language selector.

Troubleshooting

If translations are not appearing on your event website after configuration:
  • Verify your Weglot API key is entered correctly without any extra spaces
  • Ensure your Weglot account has sufficient word credits for translation
  • Check that you've clicked "Save" after entering your API key
