How to communicate menu changes to your event attendees
The Integrations menu in Cadence allows you to customize navigation options for your event, including disabling the Events menu on web and mobile platforms. When making these changes, it's important to proactively communicate with your attendees to ensure they understand how to navigate your event without confusion.
When to use
When disabling the Events menu for web or mobile users
When enabling language translations that will affect navigation
When making significant changes to menu structure or navigation paths
When implementing custom navigation experiences for specific user groups
You must have Admin or Event Manager permissions to modify integration settings and communicate these changes to attendees.
How to do it
Plan your communication strategy before implementing menu changes.
Navigate to your event dashboard in Cadence Admin.
Select "Event Setup" from the left sidebar menu.
Click "Integrations" from the submenu that appears.
Make your desired menu changes by toggling the appropriate settings.
Disabling the Events Menu will remove the ability for users to navigate between multiple events. Ensure attendees understand how to access your event directly.
Click "Save" to apply your changes.
Draft a clear notification message explaining the navigation changes and new access methods.
Navigate to "Notifications" in your event admin panel.
Create a new notification with your drafted message about menu changes.
Include screenshots of the new navigation path if possible.
Schedule the notification to be sent shortly before the changes take effect.
Consider creating a Live Feed post that can be pinned to highlight the navigation changes.
Update any event documentation or FAQs to reflect the new navigation structure.
Test the user experience yourself to ensure your instructions are accurate.
Include direct links to important event sections in your communications to help attendees bypass navigation challenges.
Monitor feedback after implementing changes and be prepared to provide additional guidance.
Troubleshooting
If attendees report difficulty navigating after menu changes:
Verify they have cleared their browser cache if using the web version
Confirm they have updated to the latest version of the mobile app
Consider temporarily restoring previous menu settings while improving communication
