How to @ mention users, menu items, and other content in Live Feed posts
The @ mention feature in Cadence's Live Feed allows you to tag users, menu items, and other content in your posts, creating interactive and navigable content. This functionality helps direct attendees to specific people or sections of your event site, making your Live Feed more engaging and useful.
When to use
When directing attendees to specific event content
When you want to notify specific users about important information
When creating posts that reference other sections of your event
When highlighting specific feeds or menu items for attendees
Before you start
You must have posting permissions in the Live Feed to use the @ mention feature.
How to do it
Navigate to your event in Cadence.
Select Live Feed from the navigation menu.
Click the "+" button to create a new post.
Begin typing your message in the text field.
Type the @ symbol followed by the first few letters of what you want to mention.
A dropdown menu will appear showing available items that match what you're typing.
Select the item you want to mention from the dropdown list.
Continue writing your post as needed.
Review your post to ensure the mentioned items appear correctly (they should be highlighted).
Click Post to publish your content with the mentions.
When attendees click on a mentioned item in your post, they will be directed to that specific section of your event or user profile.
Troubleshooting
If menu items or users aren't appearing in the dropdown when you type @, verify that you have properly set up your event menu structure and that the users you're trying to mention are part of the event.
