Enable and Configure Email/Push Notifications for Check-Ins
The Event Check-In feature in Cadence allows you to track attendance and notify relevant stakeholders when attendees check in. By enabling email and push notifications, you can automatically alert assistants or other team members when specific attendees arrive at your event, helping coordinate VIP handling, follow-up actions, or simply keeping track of attendance in real-time.
When to use
When tracking VIP attendance requires immediate notification
When assistants need to know when their executives have arrived
When coordinating follow-up actions based on attendee arrival
When real-time attendance tracking is needed by team members not at check-in stations
Before you start
You must have Admin, Event Manager, or Event Scheduler permissions to configure check-in notification settings.
How to do it
Log in to your Cadence account.
Navigate to your event dashboard.
Select "People" from the left sidebar menu.
Click "Event Check-In" in the submenu.
Select the "Settings" tab at the top of the page.
Toggle "Enable Attendee Check-In" to turn on the feature if not already enabled.
Select your preferred check-in type from the dropdown:
Overall Event Check-In (attendees check in once for the entire event)
Check-In Per Event Day (attendees must check in for each day)
Toggle "Enable email and push-notification to user assistant when user is checked in for this event" to ON.
This setting will send notifications only to assistants who are assigned to specific attendees in their user profiles.
Configure any additional check-in settings as needed:
Verify that assistants are properly assigned to attendees by checking user profiles.
To assign assistants, navigate to People → Attendees → select an attendee → Edit Profile → Assistant field.
Test the notification system by checking in a test attendee with an assigned assistant.
Notifications will only be sent when an actual check-in occurs, not during test mode or preview.
Troubleshooting
If notifications aren't being received, ensure that assistants are properly assigned to attendees in their user profiles and that email addresses are correct. Also verify that recipients haven't blocked or unsubscribed from Cadence notifications.
