Troubleshoot HubSpot Deal Link Connection Problems

The Cadence Services Info menu allows you to connect your event with a HubSpot deal, but sometimes this connection may encounter issues. Located in the Events section under Cadence Services Info › Info, this troubleshooting guide will help you identify and resolve common problems with HubSpot deal link connections to ensure your event data properly integrates with your CRM system.

When to use

  • When the HubSpot deal link isn't saving properly
  • When deal information isn't populating in Cadence
  • When you receive error messages when trying to link a deal
  • When you need to update or change an existing HubSpot deal link

Before you start

You must have System Administrator or Event Manager permissions to troubleshoot HubSpot deal connections. The HubSpot Deal Link URL field is optional but recommended for proper integration.

How to do it

    Verify your HubSpot credentials and login status.
    Navigate to your event dashboard in Cadence Admin.
    Click on "Event Setup" in the left sidebar menu.
    Select "Cadence Services Info" from the submenu that appears.
If you don't see the Cadence Services Info option, you may need to scroll within the sidebar menu or check your permissions.
    Check the current value in the "HubSpot Deal Link URL" field.
A valid HubSpot deal URL should follow this format:  https://app.hubspot.com/contacts/20886443/record/0-3/[deal-id] 
    Open your HubSpot account in a separate browser tab.
    Navigate to the specific deal you want to link to your event.
    Copy the complete URL of the HubSpot deal page.
Make sure to copy the entire URL, including the deal ID at the end. Partial URLs will not establish a proper connection.
    Return to the Cadence Services Info page and paste the URL into the "HubSpot Deal Link URL" field.
    Click "Save" to apply your changes.
    Refresh the page to verify the URL was saved correctly.
    Check if any error messages appear after saving.
If you receive an error, try clearing your browser cache or using a different browser.
    Verify the connection by clicking on the saved URL to ensure it opens the correct HubSpot deal.

Troubleshooting

  • If the URL doesn't save, ensure you have proper permissions in both Cadence and HubSpot
  • If the deal information doesn't appear, check that the HubSpot integration is properly configured at the account level
  • If you receive a 404 error when clicking the link, the deal may have been deleted or moved in HubSpot
  • If you need to edit or unlink a HubSpot deal, click "Edit" next to the field, update the URL, or clear it entirely and save
