How to enable conflict notifications for attendees

Enable Conflict Notifications for Attendees

Enable conflict notifications to alert attendees when they have scheduling conflicts between appointments and schedule items. This feature helps attendees manage their time more effectively by providing warnings when they attempt to register for overlapping sessions or accept conflicting appointments. Access this setting through the Attendees menu in your event's administration area.

When to use

  • When hosting events with multiple concurrent sessions
  • When appointments are a key part of your event
  • When you want to reduce double-bookings
  • When attendees need to manage complex schedules
This feature requires that your event has schedule items and/or appointments enabled.

How to do it

Navigate to the Attendees section in your Cadence dashboard.
Select the Settings tab at the top of the Attendees page.
Locate the "Send attendees conflict email before event begins" option in the settings list.
Toggle the setting to ON by clicking the checkbox.
Click Save at the bottom of the page to apply your changes.
This setting works best when combined with the appointment conflict notifications, which are enabled by default in the Appointments settings.

Troubleshooting

If attendees report not receiving conflict notifications:
  • Verify that the setting is enabled
  • Check that the attendee has a valid email address in the system
  • Ensure the attendee has not unsubscribed from event emails
