How to fix speaker-to-schedule item linking problems
Fix Speaker-to-Schedule Item Linking Problems
The Speakers feature in Cadence allows you to connect presenter profiles with specific sessions in your event schedule. When speaker-to-schedule item links aren't working correctly, it can create confusion for attendees trying to find information about session presenters. From the Speakers Menu › Settings area, you can troubleshoot and resolve common linking issues to ensure speakers appear correctly on their assigned schedule items.
When to use
When speakers aren't appearing on their assigned schedule items
When schedule items aren't showing on speaker profiles
When speaker order is inconsistent between different views
When speaker links are broken or redirecting incorrectly
Before you start
You must have System Administrator or Event Manager permissions to troubleshoot speaker linking issues. Required fields are marked with an asterisk (*).
How to do it
Log in to your Cadence Admin account.
Navigate to your event dashboard.
Click on "Speakers" in the left sidebar menu.
If you don't see the Speakers option, you may need to enable it first through Event Setup › Menu.
Verify the speaker exists in your Speakers list.
Speakers should automatically appear in this list when added to schedule items.
Open the schedule item that should display the speaker by going to Schedule › Schedule Items.
Check if the speaker is listed in the Speakers section of the schedule item.
If using a custom Speaker label in Schedule Labels, look for your custom label instead of "Speakers."
Add the speaker to the schedule item if missing by clicking the "+" button next to the Speakers section.
Select the appropriate speaker from the dropdown list.
You can search by name if you have many speakers in your event.
Save the schedule item after adding the speaker.
Return to the Speakers list and click on the speaker's name to view their profile.
Check the Schedule section of the speaker profile to verify the schedule item appears.
Verify speaker order if multiple speakers are assigned to the same schedule item.
Speaker order can be adjusted by dragging speakers into the desired sequence on the schedule item edit page.
Test the linking by viewing the schedule item in the attendee interface.
Click on the speaker's name from the schedule item to ensure it navigates to the correct speaker profile.
Return to the schedule item to confirm the navigation path works correctly.
Troubleshooting
If speakers still don't appear on schedule items after following these steps:
Verify the Speakers menu item is enabled in Event Setup › Menu
Check if the speaker profile contains all required information
Ensure you're using the latest version of the Cadence app (v2.7.387 for iOS or v2.7.404 for Android) if testing on mobile
