The Registration Menu in Cadence allows you to set capacity limits for your event, controlling the maximum number of attendees who can register. Through the Registration Menu › Settings section, you can enable this feature to automatically prevent new registrations once your limit is reached, helping you manage venue constraints and resource allocation.
When to use
When hosting events with venue capacity restrictions
When you need to limit attendance for logistical reasons
When you want to create exclusivity or manage resource allocation
When you need to track interest beyond available capacity
Before you start
You must have System Administrator or Event Manager permissions to modify registration capacity settings.
How to do it
Log in to your Cadence Admin account.
Navigate to your event dashboard.
Click on "People" in the left sidebar menu.
Select "Registration" from the submenu that appears.
Ensure "Enable Event Registration" is toggled on.
Disabling this setting will remove the registration option from your event entirely.
Select a "Registration Type" from the dropdown menu.
Choose "Public - Open Registration" for events open to anyone, or select a private option to restrict access.
Enter a "Registration Page URL Short Name" that will appear in your registration link.
Locate the "Attendee Capacity" field.
Enter the maximum number of attendees allowed for your event.
Consider your venue capacity, staffing, and resource availability when setting this limit. For Essential license events, capacity is automatically limited to 5 attendees.
Configure additional registration settings as needed.
Click "Save" at the bottom of the page to apply your changes.
Troubleshooting
If capacity settings aren't working as expected, verify that:
The capacity limit is greater than the current number of registered attendees
The event license type supports your desired capacity (Essential events are limited to 5 attendees)
Guest registration settings are properly configured if you're using that feature
