How to enable standard Cadence features in your menu
The Menu section in Cadence allows you to add built-in platform features to your event's navigation structure. From the Menu page (Events > [Event Name] > Menu), you can enable standard Cadence features like Schedule, Live Feed, or Attendees that will appear in your event's main navigation menu, making these functionalities accessible to your attendees.
When to use
When setting up a new event and adding core functionality
When you need to enable additional features for an existing event
When customizing which standard features are available to attendees
When reorganizing your event's navigation structure
You must have Admin or Event Manager permissions to enable menu features.
How to do it
Log in to your Cadence Admin account.
Navigate to your event dashboard.
Click on "Event Setup" in the left sidebar menu.
Select "Menu" from the submenu that appears.
Click the "Create Custom Menu Item" button at the top of the page.
Enter a name for your menu item in the "Menu Label" field.
You can use the default feature name or customize it to better fit your event's terminology.
Select an icon from the dropdown to visually represent your menu item.
Choose "Event Feature" from the Navigation Type dropdown.
Select the specific Cadence feature you want to enable from the "Feature" dropdown.
The dropdown will only show features that aren't already enabled in your menu.
Set visibility by choosing who can see this menu item:
All (everyone can see it)
None (hidden from menu but accessible via direct link)
Specified (only visible to selected groups or attendance types)
Select specific groups or attendance types if you chose "Specified" visibility.
If you select both groups and attendance types with "Specified" visibility, users must meet BOTH criteria to see the menu item.
Click "Save" to create your menu item.
Verify your new menu item appears in the menu list.
Use the drag handles (six dots) to reorder the menu item if needed.
Click "Save" at the bottom of the page to apply all your changes.
Troubleshooting
If a feature you need doesn't appear in the dropdown, it may already be enabled in your menu. Check your current menu items to confirm.
