How to access the Collections menu in your event

The Collections menu in Cadence provides a centralized location for organizing and displaying content resources for your event attendees. By accessing the Collections menu, you can create folders of materials such as PDFs, presentations, videos, and other content types that attendees can easily navigate and access.

When to use

  • When you need to organize event resources in a centralized location
  • When you want to create topic-based or category-based content groupings
  • When you need to share materials with specific attendee groups
  • When you want to track content engagement and access statistics

Before you start

You must have Admin or Event Manager permissions to add and configure the Collections menu in your event.

How to do it

    Log in to your Cadence Admin account.
    Navigate to your event dashboard.
    Click on "Event Setup" in the left sidebar menu.
    Select "Menu" from the submenu that appears.
    Click the "Create Custom Menu Item" button at the top of the page.
    Enter a name for your menu item in the "Menu Label" field.
Use descriptive names like "Resources," "Materials," or specific collection categories to help users understand what content they'll find.
    Select an icon from the dropdown to visually represent your menu item.
    Choose "Collections" from the Navigation Type dropdown.
    Set visibility by choosing who can see this menu item:
  • All (everyone can see it)
  • None (hidden from menu but accessible via direct link)
  • Specified (only visible to selected groups or attendance types)
If you select both groups and attendance types with "Specified" visibility, users must meet BOTH criteria to see the menu item.
    Click "Save" to create your Collections menu item.
    Return to your event dashboard.
    Locate "Collections" in the left sidebar navigation.
    Click on "Collections" to access the collections interface.

Troubleshooting

If the Collections menu is not visible after following these steps:
  • Verify you have Admin or Event Manager permissions
  • Confirm the Collections feature is included in your Cadence license type
  • Check that you've saved your menu configuration changes
