How to manage speaker visibility settings

Manage Speaker Visibility Settings

The Speakers Menu in Cadence allows you to control which attendees can see your event's speakers and their profiles. From the Speakers Menu › Settings area, you can configure visibility permissions for speakers, ensuring that specialized presenter information is only accessible to appropriate attendee groups while making general speaker information available to everyone.

When to use

  • When organizing events with different speaker visibility requirements
  • When sharing specialized speaker information with specific attendee groups
  • When creating role-specific speaker visibility
  • When controlling access to certain speaker profiles

Before you start

You must have System Administrator or Event Manager permissions to modify speaker visibility settings. Required fields are marked with an asterisk (*).

How to do it

Log in to your Cadence Admin account.
    Navigate to your event dashboard.
Click on "Speakers" in the left sidebar menu.
If you don't see the Speakers option, you may need to enable it first through Event Setup › Menu.
Select the "Settings" tab at the top of the Speakers page.
Find the "Visible to" section in the speaker settings.
Choose one of the following visibility options:
  • All (everyone can see speakers)
  • Specified (only visible to selected groups or attendance types)
Select specific groups or attendance types if you chose "Specified" visibility.
If you select both groups and attendance types with "Specified" visibility, users must meet BOTH criteria to see the speakers.
Choose your preferred sorting method from the "Sort By" dropdown:
  • "A-Z (Last Name)" for alphabetical sorting
  • "Custom order" to manually arrange speakers
Click "Save" to apply your visibility settings.
Verify your settings by viewing the Speakers page as different user types.

Troubleshooting

If speakers aren't appearing for certain attendees despite your settings:
  • Verify that the attendees belong to the specified groups or attendance types
  • Check that the Speakers menu item is enabled and visible to those attendees
  • Ensure you've clicked "Save" after making visibility changes
