A registration restricted message appears when someone attempts to register for your event but doesn't meet the requirements you've set. This feature is especially useful for private events or those with specific registration criteria. You can customize this message in the Registration Menu › Settings section of your Cadence event.
When to use
When hosting invitation-only events
When restricting registration to specific email domains
When limiting registration to existing users
When using any private registration type
You must have System Administrator or Event Manager permissions to modify registration settings.
How to do it
Log in to your Cadence Admin account.
Navigate to your event dashboard.
Click on "People" in the left sidebar menu.
Select "Registration" from the submenu that appears.
Click on the "Settings" tab at the top of the page.
Verify that "Enable Event Registration" is toggled on.
Disabling this setting will prevent attendees from registering for your event.
Select your preferred "Registration Type" from the dropdown menu.
This message is most relevant for private registration types such as "Private - By Email List" or "Private - by Domains".
Locate and check the "Registration restricted message" checkbox.
Enter your custom message in the text field that appears.
Keep your message clear and concise. Include instructions on how to request access if appropriate.
Click "Save" at the bottom of the page to apply your changes.
Troubleshooting
If your registration restricted message isn't displaying properly, verify that:
You've selected a private registration type
The "Registration restricted message" checkbox is checked
You've saved your changes after entering your message
Your event is not in "Review" status, which can prevent messages from displaying properly
