Test Language Translations After Enabling Weglot
After enabling Weglot translations in your event's Integrations menu, it's important to verify that the translation functionality works correctly for your attendees. Testing ensures that international participants can access your event content in their preferred language, improving their overall experience on your event website.
When to use
After enabling Weglot translations for your event website
Before launching your event to international audiences
When adding new content that needs to be translated
After making changes to your Weglot integration settings
You must have Admin or Event Manager permissions to access the event website for testing.
How to do it
Navigate to your event's public website URL.
Look for the language selector in the top-right corner of the website.
The language selector typically appears as a small globe icon or the current language code (e.g., "EN" for English).
Click on the language selector to view available languages.
Select a different language from the dropdown menu.
Wait for the page to reload with the translated content.
Verify that text elements throughout the page have been translated.
Navigate to different sections of your event website to ensure translations are consistent.
Check dynamic content such as schedule items, speaker information, and custom pages.
Some custom elements or embedded content may not translate properly if they're loaded from external sources.
Test interactive elements like buttons and forms to ensure they function correctly in the translated version.
Return to the original language by selecting it from the language selector.
Troubleshooting
If translations are not appearing on your event website:
Verify your Weglot API key is valid and entered correctly
Ensure you've saved your integration settings after enabling Weglot
Check that your Weglot account has sufficient word credits for translation
Clear your browser cache and reload the page
Remember that Weglot only translates the website version of your event, not the mobile app.
