The Menu section in Cadence allows you to copy menu structures from existing events to save time and maintain consistency across your organization's events. From the Menu page in Event Setup, you can duplicate entire menu configurations, including custom items, nested menus, and visibility settings, eliminating the need to rebuild complex navigation structures for each new event.
When to use
When creating a new event with similar navigation needs to an existing event
When standardizing menu structures across multiple related events
When updating seasonal or recurring events that share common navigation patterns
When you want to ensure consistent user experience across your event portfolio
Before you start
You must have Admin or Event Manager permissions to duplicate menu structures between events.
How to do it
Log in to your Cadence Admin account.
Navigate to your target event dashboard.
Click on "Event Setup" in the left sidebar menu.
Select "Menu" from the submenu that appears.
Click the "Options" button in the top-right corner of the Menu page.
Select "Copy from another event" from the dropdown menu.
Choose the source event from the dropdown list of available events.
Filter the event list by typing part of the event name to quickly find your source event.
Review the menu items that will be copied in the preview section.
Select which menu elements you want to include:
Standard menu items
Custom menu items
Nested menu structures
Visibility settings
Duplicating menu structures will overwrite any existing menu configuration in your target event. Consider saving your current configuration first if you need to preserve it.
Click "Copy" to duplicate the selected menu structure to your target event.
Review the copied menu structure in your target event.
Make any necessary adjustments to the copied menu items for your specific event needs.
Click "Save" to finalize your menu configuration.
Troubleshooting
If menu items appear but don't function correctly after duplication:
Verify that linked content (custom pages, collections) exists in the target event
Check that visibility settings match your target event's group structure
Ensure any referenced external links are still valid
