The Event Check-In feature in Cadence allows you to track attendance for both primary attendees and their guests. When guest registration is enabled for your event, you can check in the main attendee and their accompanying guests individually or together, helping you maintain accurate attendance records for all participants.
When to use
When managing events that allow attendees to bring guests
When tracking attendance for both primary attendees and their companions
When generating comprehensive attendance reports that include guest participation
When managing badge printing or meal counts that need to include guests
Before you start
You must have Admin, Event Manager, or Event Scheduler permissions to check in attendees and their guests. Guest check-in is only available if the feature has been enabled in your event settings.
How to do it
Log in to your Cadence account.
Navigate to your event dashboard.
Select "People" from the left sidebar menu.
Click "Event Check-In" in the submenu.
If you don't see the Event Check-In option, verify that the feature is enabled for your event in the Settings tab.
Locate the attendee with guests you want to check in.
Use the search bar at the top of the directory to quickly find specific attendees by name, email, or company.
Click the check-in button next to the attendee's name.
Review the check-in dialog that appears, which will show the primary attendee and their guests.
If "Check-In Per Event Day" is enabled, you'll need to select which day you're checking the attendee in for.
Select whether to check in just the primary attendee, specific guests, or everyone.
You can check individual boxes next to each person's name to select who to check in.
Click "Confirm" to complete the check-in process.
Verify that the check-in status has updated for both the attendee and their guests.
The checked-in attendees and guests will display a green "Checked In" indicator next to their names.
Troubleshooting
If you don't see guest options when checking in an attendee:
Verify that guest registration is enabled for your event
Check that the specific attendee has registered with guests
Ensure you have the proper permissions to view and check in guests
If an attendee or guest was checked in incorrectly:
You must manually update their status, as check-ins cannot be automatically reverted
