How to use different alignment options to highlight important content
The alignment options in Cadence's Home Menu Settings allow you to strategically position your content tiles to draw attention to key information. By choosing between Left Aligned, Centered, or Right Aligned layouts, you can create visual emphasis that guides attendees' focus to your most important content while maintaining a professional, balanced appearance.
When to use
When you need to highlight specific content on your Home page
When creating a visual hierarchy for your event information
When adapting your layout to match your branding guidelines
When optimizing for different types of content tiles
How to do it
Log in to your Cadence Admin account.
Navigate to your event dashboard.
Click on "Home" in the left sidebar menu.
Select the "Settings" tab at the top of the page.
Locate the "Alignment (Web Only)" dropdown menu.
Alignment settings only affect the web version of your event, not the mobile app.
Choose an alignment option based on your content strategy:
Left Aligned: Creates a traditional reading pattern that works well for text-heavy tiles
Centered: Provides a balanced, formal appearance that draws attention to the middle of the screen
Right Aligned: Creates visual interest and can highlight action items or calls-to-action
Consider how your alignment choice works with your column layout selection.
For "Single Column" layouts, centered alignment often creates the most balanced appearance. For "Two Columns" layouts, left alignment provides a natural reading flow.
Use left alignment to highlight sequential information or step-by-step content.
Left alignment works well when you have tiles that should be read in a specific order, as users naturally read from left to right.
Apply centered alignment to create a formal, symmetrical appearance for important announcements or featured content.
Implement right alignment to create visual interest or draw attention to specific calls-to-action.
Right alignment can feel unnatural for some users, so use it sparingly and test how it appears on different screen sizes.
Preview your changes by clicking the "Preview" button in the upper right corner.
Click "Save" at the bottom of the page to apply your changes.
Troubleshooting
If your content appears misaligned or crowded after changing alignment settings, try adjusting your column layout or reducing the number of tiles to create more visual space.
