How to enable or disable specific check-in features

Enable or Disable Specific Check-In Features

The Event Check-In Settings page allows you to control which check-in features are available for your event. From this central location, you can enable overall or per-day check-ins, guest functionality, signature capture, and specialized check-in lists to customize the attendance tracking experience for your specific event needs.

Before you start

You must have Admin, Event Manager, or Event Scheduler permissions to modify check-in settings.

How to do it

Log in to your Cadence account.
    Navigate to your event dashboard.
Select "People" from the left sidebar menu.
Click "Event Check-In" in the submenu.
Select the "Settings" tab at the top of the page.
Toggle "Enable Attendee Check-In" to turn the feature on or off.
This is the master switch that controls whether check-in functionality is available at all for your event.
Select your preferred check-in type from the dropdown:
  • Overall Event Check-In (attendees check in once for the entire event)
  • Check-In Per Event Day (attendees must check in for each day)
Choose "Overall Event Check-In" for shorter events and "Check-In Per Event Day" when you need to track daily attendance separately.
Toggle "Enable Guests" if you want attendees to be able to bring and check in guests.
Toggle "Enable email and push-notification" if you want assistants to be notified when their users check in.
Toggle "Enable Signature Capture" if you need attendees to provide signatures during check-in.
Signature capture only works on mobile devices through the Cadence app, not on the web interface.
Toggle "Enable Customers Check-In" to allow external participants to be checked in.
Toggle "Enable Check-In Lists" if you want to create specialized check-in lists for different locations or groups.
Click "Save" to apply your changes.
Changing check-in settings after attendees have already been checked in may affect your attendance reporting.

Troubleshooting

If check-in settings aren't appearing in the mobile app, ensure you're using the latest version of the Cadence app (v2.7.404 for Android or v2.7.393 for iOS) and try refreshing your event data.
