The Speakers feature in Cadence allows you to efficiently add multiple speakers at once using import templates. From the Speakers Menu › Settings area, you can download a template, populate it with speaker information, and upload it to quickly create multiple speaker profiles, saving time compared to adding speakers individually.
When to use
When adding many speakers to your event at once
When transferring speakers from another system or spreadsheet
When updating multiple existing speaker profiles simultaneously
When standardizing speaker information across your event
Before you start
You must have System Administrator or Event Manager permissions to import speakers. Required fields in the template are marked with an asterisk (*).
How to do it
Log in to your Cadence Admin account.
Navigate to your event dashboard.
Click on "Speakers" in the left sidebar menu.
If you don't see the Speakers option, you may need to enable it first through Event Setup › Menu.
Select the "Import" button in the upper right corner of the Speakers page.
Download the import template by clicking the "Download Template" button.
The template includes columns for all speaker information fields, with required fields marked with an asterisk (*).
Open the downloaded template in your spreadsheet application.
Enter speaker information in the appropriate columns:
First Name* and Last Name* (required)
Email (recommended for linking to user profiles)
Prefix, Title, Company, City, Country
Biography and social media links
Save your completed spreadsheet as an Excel file.
Return to the Speakers Import page in Cadence.
Click "Choose File" to select your completed spreadsheet.
Do not modify column headers in the template as this will cause import errors.
Upload your file by clicking the "Import" button.
Review the import results summary that appears.
The system will display how many speakers were successfully imported and any errors that occurred.
Verify your imported speakers appear in the Speakers list.
Link speakers to schedule items as needed.
You can also use the Schedule Import template to assign speakers to schedule items in bulk.
Troubleshooting
If your import fails:
Verify all required fields (First Name* and Last Name*) are completed
Check that column headers match the original template exactly
Ensure your file is saved in a supported format (.xlsx or .xls)
For large imports, try uploading in smaller batches
