How to link speakers to schedule items

Link Speakers to Schedule Items

The Speakers feature in Cadence allows you to connect presenter profiles with specific sessions in your event schedule. From the Speakers Menu, you can associate speakers with schedule items, making it easy for attendees to see who is presenting at each session and access their detailed profiles for more information.

When to use

  • When assigning presenters to specific sessions
  • When updating speaker assignments for schedule changes
  • When organizing panel discussions with multiple speakers
  • When creating a comprehensive program with presenter information

Before you start

You must have System Administrator or Event Manager permissions to link speakers to schedule items. Required fields are marked with an asterisk (*).

How to do it

    Log in to your Cadence Admin account.
    Navigate to your event dashboard.
    Click on "Schedule" in the left sidebar menu.
    Locate the schedule item you want to add speakers to.
    Click on the schedule item to open its details page.
    Scroll down to the "Speakers" section.
If you've customized the Speaker label in Schedule Labels, you'll see your custom label instead of "Speakers."
    Click the "+" button next to the Speakers section.
    Choose how to add speakers:
  • "Create Speaker" for a new profile
  • "Select from Speakers, Attendees, or Customers" for existing profiles
    Select the speaker(s) you want to add to this schedule item.
Speakers added to schedule items are automatically added to your event's Speakers list.
    Arrange speakers in your preferred order by dragging them if needed.
The display order can be important for panels or sessions with multiple presenters.
    Click "Save" to apply your changes.
    Verify that speakers appear correctly on the schedule item.

Troubleshooting

If speakers aren't appearing on schedule items after being added:
  • Check that the Speakers menu item is enabled in Event Setup › Menu
  • Verify that the schedule item has been properly saved
  • Ensure the speaker profiles contain the required information
