How to enable Customer check-ins for schedule items

Enable Customer Check-ins for Schedule Items

The Schedule Settings page in Cadence allows you to configure check-in options for tracking attendance at your schedule items. From the Schedule Menu › Settings section, you can enable Customer Check-in to track external participants separately from internal attendees, ensuring comprehensive attendance records for all session participants.

When to use

  • When external participants need to be checked in for schedule items
  • When tracking attendance of customers or partners at sessions
  • When generating separate attendance reports for internal and external attendees
  • When compliance requires documentation of external participant attendance

Before you start

You must have System Administrator or Event Manager permissions to modify schedule check-in settings. Standard check-in must be enabled before customer check-in can be activated.

How to do it

    Log in to your Cadence Admin account.
    Navigate to your event dashboard.
    Select "Schedule" from the left sidebar menu.
    Click the "Settings" tab at the top of the Schedule page.
    Scroll down to the check-in configuration section.
    Toggle "Enable Standard Attendee Check-in" to ON if not already enabled.
Customer check-in requires standard check-in to be enabled first as a prerequisite.
    Toggle "Enable Customers Check-in" to ON to allow external participants to be checked in.
This setting allows you to track attendance of external participants separately from your internal team members.
    Consider enabling additional check-in methods if needed for your event:
  • Badge Scan Check-in
  • Legal Disclaimer Check-in
  • Signature Capture Check-in
    Click "Save" to apply your changes.
Changes to check-in settings will affect all schedule items in your event immediately.
    Verify the settings are active by checking a schedule item's check-in options.

Troubleshooting

If customer check-in options aren't appearing in the mobile app, ensure you're using the latest version of the Cadence app (v2.7.404 for Android or v2.7.393 for iOS) and try refreshing your event data.
