Use Speaker Profiles to Enhance Networking Opportunities

The Speakers feature in Cadence allows you to leverage presenter profiles to create valuable networking connections between speakers and attendees. From the Speakers Menu › Settings area, you can optimize speaker profiles with contact information, social media links, and interactive elements that encourage meaningful engagement and professional relationship-building throughout your event.

When to use

  • When facilitating connections between speakers and attendees
  • When creating networking opportunities around specific topics or expertise
  • When helping attendees follow up with presenters after sessions
  • When building a community around your event content

Before you start

You must have System Administrator or Event Manager permissions to optimize speaker profiles for networking. Required fields are marked with an asterisk (*).

How to do it

Log in to your Cadence Admin account.
    Navigate to your event dashboard.
Click on "Speakers" in the left sidebar menu.
If you don't see the Speakers option, you may need to enable it first through Event Setup › Menu.
Select the "Settings" tab at the top of the Speakers page.
Choose your preferred sorting method from the "Sort By" dropdown:
  • "A-Z (Last Name)" for alphabetical sorting
  • "Custom order" to highlight speakers with networking availability first
Click "Save" to apply your settings.
Return to the main Speakers list.
Edit each speaker profile to include networking-focused elements:
  • Professional contact information (email, phone if appropriate)
  • Social media links, especially LinkedIn
  • Areas of expertise or interest topics
  • Office hours or availability for questions
Add a networking statement to speaker biographies indicating their willingness to connect.
Example: "Jane welcomes connections with attendees interested in discussing artificial intelligence applications in healthcare."
Upload professional headshots for all speakers.
Clear, professional images significantly increase networking engagement rates.
Link speakers to their user profiles if they are also attending the event.
Once linked, speakers can edit their own profiles, so ensure they understand your networking objectives.
Create speaker resources that provide additional conversation starters.
Connect speakers to relevant schedule items so attendees can find them easily.
Communicate to speakers how attendees will be encouraged to network with them.
Verify that speaker profiles display correctly on both web and mobile interfaces.

Troubleshooting

If attendees report difficulty connecting with speakers, check that contact information is visible and that any messaging features are properly enabled in your event settings.
