Adjust Notification Settings Mid-Event If Needed

The Notifications Settings page in Cadence allows you to modify notification preferences during your event to respond to changing circumstances or attendee feedback. From the Notifications menu in your event dashboard, you can quickly adjust Schedule Reminders timing, toggle Live Feed notifications, or modify Messaging Channels alerts without disrupting the attendee experience.

When to use

  • When attendees report receiving too many or too few notifications
  • When venue logistics require changes to schedule reminder timing
  • When social activity levels require adjustments to notification volume
  • When communication priorities shift during your event
You must have Admin or Event Manager permissions to modify notification settings.

How to do it

    Navigate to your event dashboard in Cadence.
    Select "Notifications" from the left sidebar menu.
    Click the "Settings" tab at the top of the page.
    Review current notification activity to identify potential issues.
    Adjust "Schedule Reminders" timing if attendees need more or less advance notice.
If attendees report missing sessions due to travel time between locations, increase the reminder time from 5 minutes to 15-30 minutes.
    Toggle "Live Feed" notifications based on social activity volume.
High volumes of Live Feed posts can quickly lead to notification fatigue. Consider disabling during peak social activity periods.
    Modify "Messaging Channels" notifications if communication needs change.
This setting only affects public channel notifications. Private channel members always receive notifications regardless of this setting.
    Click "Save" at the bottom of the page to apply your changes.
    Send a notification to inform attendees about the changes you've made.
    Monitor notification effectiveness after your changes to ensure they've addressed the issue.

Troubleshooting

If attendees report not receiving notifications after your changes:
  • Verify they haven't disabled push notifications on their devices
  • Confirm they have the latest version of the Cadence mobile app (v2.7.404 for Android or v2.7.393 for iOS)
  • Check that your notification settings are properly saved in your event
