Reset Onboarding for Attendees

The Reset Onboarding feature allows administrators to clear an attendee's onboarding progress, requiring them to complete the onboarding process again the next time they access the event. This is useful for testing your onboarding flow, helping attendees who encountered errors, or ensuring users complete updated onboarding requirements.

When to use

  • When testing changes to your onboarding configuration
  • When an attendee reports being unable to complete onboarding
  • When you've updated important terms and conditions that require re-acceptance
  • When you need to collect new information from attendees who previously completed onboarding

Before you start

You must have System Administrator or Event Manager permissions to reset onboarding for attendees.

How to do it

    Log in to your Cadence Admin account.
    Navigate to your event dashboard.
    Select "Onboarding" from the left sidebar menu.
    Click on the "Reset" tab at the top of the page.
    Search for the attendee by entering their name or email in the search field.
You can use the filter options to narrow down your search by completion status or attendee type.
    Locate the attendee in the search results.
    Click the "Reset" button next to the attendee's name.
This action cannot be undone. The attendee will need to complete the entire onboarding process again.
    Confirm the reset when prompted.
    Notify the attendee that they will need to complete onboarding again when they next access the event.
The attendee will automatically be prompted to complete onboarding the next time they log in to the event.

Troubleshooting

If an attendee continues to have issues completing onboarding after a reset:
  • Verify that all required custom fields are properly configured
  • Check that the onboarding flow is enabled in the Settings tab
  • Ensure custom fields don't contain validation errors that prevent completion
