How to enable Terms and Conditions for event attendees

Enable Terms and Conditions for Event Attendees

The Terms and Conditions feature allows you to require attendees to review and accept your legal agreements before accessing your event. When enabled in the Onboarding › Settings section, this step becomes part of the onboarding flow that attendees must complete after logging in for the first time.

When to use

  • When legal agreements must be accepted before event participation
  • When you need documented consent from attendees
  • When compliance requirements mandate terms acceptance
  • When you want to maintain records of who accepted your terms
You must have System Administrator or Event Manager permissions to configure Terms and Conditions.

How to do it

Log in to your Cadence Admin account.
    Navigate to your event dashboard.
Select "Onboarding" from the left sidebar menu.
Click on the "Settings" tab at the top of the page.
Locate the "Enable Terms and Conditions" checkbox.
Check the box to enable Terms and Conditions for your event.
Once enabled, you'll need to configure the actual terms content in the Terms & Conditions tab.
Click "Save" to apply your settings change.
Navigate to the "Terms & Conditions" tab at the top of the page.
Enter a header for your terms in the "Header" field.
Keep your header clear and direct, such as "Event Terms and Conditions" or "Legal Agreement".
Type your terms and conditions in the text editor.
Consider having your legal team review the content before publishing to ensure it meets all compliance requirements.
Format your text using the formatting toolbar to improve readability.
Click "Save" to apply your changes.
Test the terms and conditions by resetting onboarding for a test user account.

Troubleshooting

If attendees report issues with the Terms and Conditions:
  • Verify the onboarding flow is enabled in the Settings tab
  • Check that the text doesn't contain special characters that might cause display issues
  • Ensure the content isn't excessively long, which could cause loading problems
