Resolve Issues with Speaker Profile Images Not Displaying Correctly
The Speakers feature in Cadence allows you to showcase presenters with professional images throughout your event platform. When speaker profile images don't display correctly, it can impact the attendee experience and event professionalism. From the Speakers Menu › Settings area, you can troubleshoot and resolve common image display issues to ensure all speaker profiles appear as intended.
When to use
When speaker profile images appear distorted or cropped incorrectly
When speaker images fail to load or display as broken icons
When banner images aren't appearing on speaker profiles
When image changes aren't reflecting after updates
Before you start
You must have System Administrator or Event Manager permissions to troubleshoot and fix speaker image issues. For optimal results, prepare replacement image files according to the recommended specifications.
How to do it
Log in to your Cadence Admin account.
Navigate to your event dashboard.
Click on "Speakers" in the left sidebar menu.
If you don't see the Speakers option, you may need to enable it first through Event Setup › Menu.
Verify image specifications for any problematic speaker images.
Profile headshots should be square (1:1 aspect ratio) with minimum dimensions of 220x220px. Banner images should be landscape orientation with recommended size of 1200x400px.
Select the speaker with the image issue by clicking on their name.
Check the current image by examining what appears in the profile.
If the image appears as a broken icon, the file may be corrupted or the link may be broken.
Clear the problematic image by clicking on the image and selecting "Clear Profile Image" or "Clear Profile Banner Image."
After clearing a profile banner image, be sure to save the profile before attempting to upload a new image to avoid system errors.
Save the profile after clearing the image.
Upload a new image by clicking on the image placeholder.
Select an appropriate image file from your device.
Supported file formats include JPG, PNG, and GIF. Maximum file size is typically 5MB.
Adjust the cropping area if needed to focus on the important parts of the image.
Click "Save" to apply the new image.
Verify the image appears correctly by viewing the speaker's profile in both admin and attendee views.
Refresh browser cache if the new image doesn't appear immediately.
Press Ctrl+F5 (Windows) or Cmd+Shift+R (Mac) to perform a hard refresh of your browser cache.
Troubleshooting
If images still don't display correctly after following these steps, try using a different browser, check your internet connection, or convert the image to a different supported format before uploading again. For persistent issues with the "Clear Profile Banner Image" function, contact Cadence Support as this may indicate a system-level issue.
