How to create custom QR codes for leads

Custom QR codes in Cadence allow you to generate unique identifiers for leads at your event, making lead capture more efficient when badge scanning services aren't available. This feature is accessible through the Leads menu in your event admin panel and enables you to create, manage, and distribute QR codes that can be scanned by your team to instantly capture lead information.

When to use

  • When official badge scanning services aren't available at an event
  • For creating pre-printed lead capture codes for your booth
  • To generate personalized QR codes for specific team members or stations
You must have the Leads menu enabled for your event to access this feature.

How to do it

Log in to your Cadence Admin account.
    Navigate to your event dashboard.
Select "Leads" from the left sidebar menu.
Click on "Settings" from the Leads submenu.
Toggle the "Create Leads" option to "On" in the Badge Scanning Setup section.
This option enables the creation of leads within the system via the 'Leads List' tab.
Go to the "Leads List" tab in the Leads section.
Click the "Import" button to upload an Excel file with lead information.
Your Excel file should include columns for first name, last name, email, company, and title at minimum.
Review the imported leads in the table view.
Select the leads you want to generate QR codes for, or leave all selected.
Click the "Export" button and select "QR Code Zip file" from the dropdown.
Each QR code is unique to a specific lead and should only be used once.
Download the ZIP file containing individual QR codes named in the format QR_[email].png.
Print the QR codes for use at your event.
Test the QR codes by scanning them with the Cadence mobile app to ensure they work properly.

Troubleshooting

If your QR codes aren't scanning properly:
  • Ensure the mobile device has a stable internet connection
  • Verify that lead scanning is enabled in your event settings
  • Check that the QR code image is clear and not distorted
  • Make sure the user scanning has appropriate permissions
