How to customize the Live Feed experience for different user groups
The Live Feed feature in Cadence allows you to create tailored social experiences for different attendee segments at your event. By configuring visibility settings in the Live Feed Menu › Settings section, you can create separate feeds for specific departments, regions, or user groups, ensuring relevant content reaches the right audience while maintaining compliance requirements.
When to use
When you need to create department-specific conversation spaces
When compliance requires certain content to be visible only to specific teams
When organizing topic-based discussions for different attendee segments
When creating specialized feeds for different regions or markets
Before you start
You must have Event Manager or Administrator permissions to customize Live Feed visibility settings.
How to do it
Log in to your Cadence admin dashboard.
Navigate to your event management page.
Select Live Feed from the left navigation menu.
Click the Settings tab at the top of the page.
Select "Multiple Feed" as your feed structure option.
Multiple Feed mode is required to create group-specific feeds with different visibility settings.
Click Save to apply the Multiple Feed setting.
Navigate to the "Feed" tab in the Live Feed section.
Click the "+" button to create a new feed.
Enter a name for your feed that clearly describes its purpose or audience.
Configure visibility settings by selecting specific groups or roles.
If you limit visibility for a feed, ensure the right groups have access. For example, compliance-sensitive content may need restricted visibility to medical affairs employees only.
Select whether to enable post approval for this specific feed.
Choose whether to disable audience participation for this feed.
Click Save to create the new feed with custom visibility settings.
Repeat steps 8-13 to create additional feeds for different user groups as needed.
Verify your feeds appear correctly by previewing your event as different user types.
Troubleshooting
If your visibility settings aren't taking effect immediately after saving, try refreshing the page or clearing your browser cache. If users report they cannot see a feed they should have access to, verify they are assigned to the correct groups in the People section of your event.
