The Menu section in Cadence allows you to add collections to your event's navigation structure, making it easy for attendees to access important content. From the Menu page in Event Setup, you can create menu items that link directly to specific collections or multiple collections, helping attendees quickly find relevant resources.
When to use
When you want to make collections easily accessible from the main navigation
When organizing related collections under a single menu item
When creating specialized resource sections for different attendee groups
When you need to highlight important materials in your event
You must have Admin or Event Manager permissions to add collections to your menu.
How to do it
Log in to your Cadence Admin account.
Navigate to your event dashboard.
Click on "Event Setup" in the left sidebar menu.
Select "Menu" from the submenu that appears.
Click the "Create Custom Menu Item" button at the top of the page.
Enter a name for your menu item in the "Menu Label" field.
Use descriptive names like "Resources," "Materials," or specific collection categories to help users understand what content they'll find.
Select an icon from the dropdown to visually represent your menu item.
Choose one of the following collection options from the Navigation Type dropdown:
"Single Collection" (to link to one specific collection)
"Multiple Collections" (to link to several collections)
Configure additional options based on your selected Navigation Type:
For Single Collection: Select the specific collection from the dropdown
For Multiple Collections: Select collections from the dropdown and use the "+" button to add more
Only published collections will appear in the dropdown lists.
Set visibility by choosing who can see this menu item:
All (everyone can see it)
None (hidden from menu but accessible via direct link)
Specified (only visible to selected groups or attendance types)
Select specific groups or attendance types if you chose "Specified" visibility.
Click "Save" to create your collection menu item.
Verify your new menu item appears in the menu list.
Use the drag handles (six dots) to reorder the menu item if needed.
Troubleshooting
If your collections don't appear in the dropdown menu:
Verify the collections are set to "Published" status
Check that you have the correct permissions to access those collections
Confirm the collections exist at the appropriate level (event or account)
