How to control email and phone number visibility

Control email and phone number visibility

The Attendees Settings section in Cadence allows you to manage privacy settings for your event participants. By configuring email and phone number visibility options, you can create the right balance between networking capabilities and data protection for your specific event needs.

When to use

  • When managing attendee privacy requirements
  • When complying with data protection regulations
  • When determining what contact information should be visible to other attendees
  • When setting up networking parameters for your event

Before you start

You must have Admin or Event Manager permissions to modify these settings.

How to do it

Log in to your Cadence Admin account.
    Navigate to your event dashboard.
Select "People" from the left sidebar menu.
    Click "Attendees" in the submenu.
Choose the "Settings" tab at the top of the page.
    Configure the profile visibility setting:
  • Check "Enable Public Profiles" to allow attendees to view each other's profiles
This setting must be enabled for attendees to see any profile information, including names and companies.
    Set email visibility options:
  • Check "Disable Email Visibility" to hide email addresses from other attendees
When email visibility is disabled, attendees cannot contact each other via email directly through the platform.
    Configure phone number visibility:
  • Check "Disable Phone Number Visibility" to hide phone numbers from other attendees
    Consider related communication settings:
  • "Enable Direct Messaging" allows attendees to contact each other within the platform
  • "Only Connections" restricts messaging to connected attendees only
If you disable both email and phone visibility, enabling direct messaging provides attendees an alternative way to communicate.
Click "Save" at the bottom of the page to apply your changes.

Troubleshooting

If attendees report they cannot see any contact information:
  • Verify "Enable Public Profiles" is checked
  • Check if the attendee has set themselves to hidden (if "Allow attendees to become hidden" is enabled)
  • Confirm the attendees are properly registered for the event
