Navigate Between Different Onboarding Configuration Options

The Onboarding menu in Cadence allows you to configure what information attendees will provide when first accessing your event. From the Onboarding section, you can navigate between different configuration tabs to create a complete onboarding experience, including custom fields, welcome messages, terms and conditions, and video content.

When to use

  • When setting up a new event's onboarding flow
  • When modifying existing onboarding configurations
  • When testing changes to the onboarding experience
  • When troubleshooting onboarding completion issues

Before you start

You must have System Administrator or Event Manager permissions to modify onboarding settings.

How to do it

Log in to your Cadence Admin account.
    Navigate to your event dashboard.
Select "Onboarding" from the left sidebar menu.
Review the available tabs at the top of the page:
  • Fields: Configure which custom fields appear during onboarding
  • Settings: Enable/disable the onboarding flow and set completion requirements
  • Welcome: Create a welcome message for attendees
  • Terms & Conditions: Add legal agreements that must be accepted
  • Video: Include an introductory video in the onboarding process
Click on the "Fields" tab to configure which profile information attendees must complete.
Start with the Fields tab to determine what information you'll collect before configuring other onboarding elements.
Enable event-level custom fields by checking the box if needed.
Select whether to display all fields or only specific fields during onboarding.
Click "Save" to apply your changes to the Fields section.
Navigate to the "Settings" tab to enable or disable the entire onboarding flow.
Configure the "Welcome" tab to create a personalized greeting for attendees.
Set up any required terms and conditions in the dedicated tab.
Add an optional introductory video in the "Video" tab.
Save your changes in each tab before moving to the next one.
Test your configuration by using the "Reset Onboarding" feature for a test account.
Changes to onboarding settings will affect all users who haven't completed onboarding yet.

Troubleshooting

If your changes don't appear to be saving, ensure you click the "Save" button at the bottom of each tab before moving to another section.
